Can I have more than 1 ex95 on the same network?

Yes, one can be the main that does the backups and the other could be a file server or backup the main.
That is what I do, I have a main that does all the backups/file server/streaming/ect. and Then I have another that I turn on about bi-monthly and do a synctoy from the main to it.
You would also have to be careful if you access one from the outside (domain thing) one host would be best, maybe the main.

You just need to have different Names for the servers and be careful which one you are using.

I believe you could even split your network, have half your clients on one server and the other half of your clients on the other server. Again, you would just need to be careful and this would kind of be a waste of space as I would guess some files would be common to both servers?

But to answer your question, Yes, but it depends on why you are doing it and you would need to be careful.

Hope this helps. Goodluck

P.S. When I was setting up my second server I turned off the main till it the second was done so I wouldn't get confused, as the names are very close. :-)

Hope you are using the Free Smart addin to keep and eye on those drives and have at least 1 backup of the data you can't lose.

Thanks for the detailed reply. What I am trying to do is duplicate the server so I always have a spare one working. What is the "Free Smart addin?"

Well, they both can't have the same name, Networking will not like that and you can only have the connector runing to one of the two servers which means that only one server will have the client backups..
But, as I do mine, you could have the second server just add a 2 or something simple to the server name and then use something like synctoy to keep the shared data the same on both, that way if the main goes down, you could switch all the connectors over to the second server and be up and running again. It might be easier to fix the main, but the second might be an option if the data was time critical, that is why I do it, I wish you could have two and just pick in the connector which server to backup to, but not possible.
Using Smart and keeping the main server clean of dust and bunnies, backing up your shared data that you can't lose either by non-pooled drives or syncing to a second server is a way to go.
I do both, sync to the second server and do non-pooled shared data backups.

No way to fully duplicate servers on the same network that I am aware of. Wish ya could.

The Smart addin is a must have IMHO so it will keep an eye on your drives and let you know if one is starting to go bad before it dies and causes all kinds of problems.

You can go to the website and checkout in detail.

They do have a paid for version that can be used on any pc or server, but the free addin is just for the mediasmart servers running the stock software.

Shout out if you have any questions... Good luck
