Hi,

I came here to ask a question but then got carried away with answering some posts. I think I got excited remembering the days of 2010 and I apologise for resurrecting some threads that were long since dead.

Anyway what I came to ask is does anyone know what connector is on the motherboard of the EX490 and also it's sibling on the bottom of the SATA drive backplane?

I wish to retrofit my EX490 into a 1U Chassis (Actually an old google search appliance) but I'd like to make out a breakout cable.

Thanks,
Al

Without cracking open one of my servers, I don't recall exactly what all the connectors are. There is a connector which can be used to create a debug cable. See here http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2015/03 ... available/

I'm not sure what you're asking for when you say "breakout cable," but if you mean something that will give you video capabilities as well as the possibility of adding a PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse and serial port, then yes, one of those connectors will do just that.

Charles, the guy who builds these debug cables, has one picture where you can see his debug cable plugged into the debug connector, which is available here: download/file.php?id=5363&mode=view (the debug board itself is not pictured in that picture; but you can clearly see the backplane and several connectors.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for!
