Since installing WHS 2011, my drive bay lights no longer light up. is that normal?

Yes it is because WHS2011 does not have the software to actually control the lights.

I actually ran this drive bay light tool through .NET Reflector so I could reverse-engineer the C# code so I could customize the lights. The author (lpn) has a lot of it written as C++ native code to control the hardware, but there's a small Windows Service that drives it. I modified his tool so that I can enable the lights, regardless of drive type, and periodically I change the colors on them. Occasionally I'll make some of them blink.

lpn's tool does not work correctly with GPT drives, so I believe they will either blink perpetually or be dark.
