Hi There!

So I orded up a TR5M+B Unit and connected it to the EX495. Powered it up and slid a drive into Bay 1 (The Bottom Bay). Unfortunately the Home Server Console does not seem to be picking up the newly added drive. Is there something I need to do to get the TR5M and the EX495 to communicate beside connecting the eSATA cable? The Bay/Drive 1 light is lit up acknowledging a drive in it and the PC Link light is lit up as well (Both Lights On The Sans Digital). Not sure why I'm not seeing this drive in the Console. I rebooted the EX495 for good measure as well. I was thinking that this was going to be fairly plug and play... I guess not so much!

Thanks For All The Help!
Marcus

Humm,
Mine was plug and play.

So three possibles.
bad esata cable.
bad drive.
bad TR5M

I don't recall the colors on the sans but I remember orange.

If your desktop has a esata. try that first

Thanks Ruben!

It was a bad Hard Drive! Brand New but Bad. Wasn't thinking that was going to be the issue.

Cool.
Hopefully it was covered by warranty!
