Ok since I can't find my CDs I had to download the 3. Out of the 3 which is the CDs I need to do the factory reset and what is the order of the CDs. Thanks

The three CDs are Software Install, PC Restore and Server Recovery. You will be using the Server Recovery disc. This is something that is spoken about in the EX490 documentation. Please read the documentation carefully -- it does a pretty good job of explaining these things.

You did this WITHOUT a dummy drive? In other words, you did a factory reset on your REAL system disk? Please tell me this is not the case, because if you did a factory reset on your actual system disk, you're probably dead in the water as far as your data goes.

I'm glad you've got both CPUs working, but I sure hope you meant that you used a dummy drive.

Um, you didn't read the documentation or our Wiki did you? Your data drives must be installed when performing a server recovery.

I bought a celeron cpu that previously hadn't been tried in an EX490 and had the same issues.

Trying to recall exactly what I did... I stumbled onto an update to the "inf" file at Intel download center. I believe that file is some type of roadmap between the OS and the capabilities of hardware - old inf file may not know your cpu was dual core.

Search for the chipset at Intel and find the latest drivers

If that doesn't work, post and I'll try to retrace my steps when I get home.

Goodluck

I've got this same problem. Was there a workaround that didn't involve reinstalling?
