Does anyone have experience with this?

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... 1665706666

Am assuming it has some kind of proprietary software but would like to put WHS on it. Any advice or recommendations?

Please advise.

Isn't this the old discontinued Sony version of a WHS? If I am correct this does not use WHS software, but is a media device designed by Sony that kind of flopped. Very short lived, as I recall.

I'm having trouble finding out much about the guts in it, though I didn't look very hard. Interesting that this topic is in the first page of Google results already when you search on "VAIO® HS1 Home Server". :)

Nice!

I'll have it in my hands within a day or so and will peek inside to take a few pictures. Am really hoping I can put WHS on it!

Quick preliminary summary:

Well built and solid little unit. Very quiet and goes to sleep when not being accessed. Seems to be running some type of Linux modified by Sony. Unit behaves more like a NAS than a server but it should be able to stream HD video to a PS3. PS3 is not around at the moment but will update thread as soon as I can.
