English, spanish, portugues.

Yeah, I had a minor HEY! moment when I was doing my harness.
The four pin molex had a small channel for the wire to go into, when I got to the sata it was a bit larger.
I don't get the two different sizes, if I had used a smaller guage it could have presented an issue.

I only speak spanish when I'm in Mexico. :) The Corsair H50 is pretty easy to install and much less cumbersome than one of those big air coolers. It's also very cool.

Cavediver,

That is a work of art. Any tips on wire management, since you seem to be the Picaso of computer cases

Looked over the tips in the beast and the wiring diagrams above. I just may be able to do that, hopefully it does not involve any smoke nor fire.

Actually, this particular case (Coolermaster Storm Scout), was quite the challenge. It's quite small compared to some of the bigger mid tower cases. Anyway, I just try to figure out the best route for each cable that will result in the least amount of cable clutter. The goal being organized cables. I believe that a well organized wiring harness leads to better airflow inside the case resulting in lower temps overall.

Sorry, but I'm not in the cable making business, yet. I have looked in to having a batch made to sell and have sourced a couple of local companies that will make batches of cables to spec, but haven't gotten a quote yet. They would just be a generic cable for the 4220 with 5 EZ crimp connectors for the backplane with a 4-pin male molex connector at the bottom and a 4-pin female molex at the top and probably no sheathing and heatshrink as that adds a lot of time to making the cable.

Ok, parts start arriving tomorrow. Will post computer parts porn, unboxing and installation. Had a few questions:

1) Planning on using xfiles version 1.5.5. Any thoughts on this good, bad or indifferent?
2) Install the sata card before or after WHS is installed for the first time? Plan was to use motherboard connectors for system drive, sata card for the data disks.
3) Install WHS with just the system drive or with the system drive and all of the data drives?
4) Any recommended addons to install right away?

Thanks

Dave

First off, please be careful, this is a family site (i.e Will post computer parts porn)

1) Never used, hopefully someone else has an answer
2) Either way. I would install the Sata card with everything else, and then once WHS is done loading install the drivers
3) Install WHS with just system drive. Make sure everything is working correctly, maybe let WHS run a couple of days on its own to ensure you don't have any issues, and then start adding new drives
4) Check the Add ins section at the top toolbar of this page. Also, there is an excellent Disk Management Tool from Tentacle Software, a HomeSmart addin, etc..

18ga stranded wire - black, yellow, red, orange or green. Or you can use all one color, i.e., black.
6-pin pcie female connectors + connector pins or 4 pin molex connectors + connector pins.
FrozenCPU ConnectRight DIY SATA EZ Crimp Connector - Black - 90° (M-SCA-16F-BK).
1/4" sleeving and heatshrink (not absolutely necessary, but looks nice).
Molex pin crimp tool.
Punch down tool w/ 110 blade.
Wire stripper that can strip 18ga wire.
Tape measure or ruler.
Heat gun to shrink heat shrink tubing.
Volt meter for continuity testing.

....

Cave, are there any commercial cables that split a 4/6 pin into several Sata power connectors?

I'd like to know I won't easily run out of power connectors, but building from scratch is a bridge too far for me... #-o

Maybe for the time being you can describe your case to us with some interpretive dance

Those ones from FrozenCPU are the only ones I know of, but I bet a google search would turn up more.
