First, what a fantastic resource. Wish you had a donate button :) Iv'e been lurking for quite some time.

I just set up and purchased a desktop.

The box: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... P-_-03ship

The MB: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=3461

Hooked up my keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Installed WHS via the included CD drive. Upgraded via windows update and to SP 3, installed a 2TB drive, another 2 MB memory stick and everything works great and backups run fine.

QUESTION: I want to run WHS headless? I can't figure out how to do this because WHS continues to require ctrl+alt+deleate at boot and then my WHS PW. Natch Iv'e disconnected the mouse and keyboard but left the monitor connected to see whats going on.

How or what to I need to do to run WHS headless?

Thanks

Once you "Connect" your PCs to the WHS or you RDP into the WHS you won't see the ctrl-alt-del screen. That only appears if you are working on the server directly via attached monitor and keyboard.

cavediver, thanks so much for the lightning fast response.

Blush...worked like a charm. :)

I will post a mini review of my WHS system in case another geek might need another low cost option.
