Okay,

I'm rebuilding the KPC 45 server that I robbed the harddrives from so that I can set my brother up with a server.

I have monitor & keyboard connected to server.

I also have guest account activated.

Why do I get an error that say I do not have permission to look at the share folders & that I should contact the network admin?

If you mean locally you can't access the shares, then it's most likely a NIC driver issue.

Jeff, you are 100% correct. I had forgotten to reinstall the drivers while rebuilding this system.

Thanks for the advice.

You don't actually need the connector software if your passwords match and the server and the computer are part of the same workgroup. That said if you want to back up or run the console from that computer then yes of course you need the connector software.
