Sorry for the late reply... real life gets in the way, huh?!

Anyway, here's the parts I went with...

Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl I've only built a few systems now, and I'm by no means an expert, but I really like this case...

The only pic I wound up taking before stashing it away is below... The case has a lot of space for air flow. I ordered a few more fans to supplement those that came with the case, I went with the same fans the case comes with (Fractal Silent Series). I believe I've got two fans mounted up front pulling air into the hard drives, two up top and one in back pulling air out of the case. So far temperatures have been fine... and I keep this thing stored away inside a wooden built-in cabinet/book case in my home office. I did add some small vents to the top and one side of the cabinet/book case, maybe that's helped too? Regardless, the drive temps in open air with the case covers off, even during use, ran around the low 30's C; with the case covers on and placed inside the cabinet the temps only get up to the upper 30's -I think the manufacturer says the drives are rated for up to 60 C.

The server's been up and running for probably four or five weeks now, in the cabinet, only restarted a couple of times to let Windows complete recommended updates. So far I haven't experienced any crashes, no hard drives dropped out of the pool, pretty much no problems what so ever.

A BIG "THANK YOU" TO ALL THE HELPFUL USERS FROM THESE FORUMS!!!

Awesome work, Thx for sharing. I noticed your comment about your raid/not being used.
I would suggest something I use, it's quick and easy, I am using it in Mirror SSD Raid in my win2012E server, I tested it for about a month in my test ex-490 and it worked great.
It has a email notification deal in it that will email you if something goes wrong. I thought a cool/quick/easy/raid for a server in (1) 3.5 slot.

I shopped around and found it for less and got free shipping.

Again, thx for sharing and good luck with your build. :whs:
