Decided to build a new home server and I must say I'm pretty impressed with whats out there. Amazon delivered the following today: Fractal Design Node 302 Case - takes about 2x the space of a 490. Asus P8H77-I Motherboard - LGA1155, 6 sata ports, 16GB memory capability, etc. I picked up a I5-3570K @ Microcenter for 169$ retail box and 16GB of ram for 89$. I was thinking I would get a I3-3220 for 120 but I couldn't pass up the deal on the 3570K. I have about 12 Hitachi A7K000 drives - 6 of which I'll use for the new build and 6 will be spares. All and all I think I'll break even once I sell my 490. Amazon should deliver the powersupply tomorrow, can't wait! |
