The HP Media Collector works greats for collecting video files from our various laptops, desktops, etc. but I recently purchased a Canon AVCHD video camera that stores video in .MTS format. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there a way to configure the HP Media Collector to recognize the .MTS files as video files?

2. Is there some other add-in that I should be using instead other than HP Media Collector to go collect video files from our laptops, desktops, etc.

Thanks.

Check out our guide on the Wiki; in it you will see how to add different file types including MTS files.

I dont think there is a convenient way of collecting content outside of the Collector unless you want to start writing scripts.

I found a Media Collector page in the Wiki (http://www.mediasmartserver.net/wiki/in ... _Collector). It has some great info, but I did not find any info on how to add additional file types. Am I looking in the right place?

Thanks.

I don't believe the Media Collector is able to be configured for additional file types unfortunately.
