From the event viewer "The driver detected a controller error on\device\harddisk0"
The corrective action (from the "help" available within the event message) is to check for loose or damaged cable and/or to "replace cable".
Anyone seen this? Where might I get a cable? Is this a warrantee issue?

It's only a couple of months old, but I really don't want to box it up and ship it back for warrantee repair. I'd gladly replace the cable myself if I could sorce one.
TIA
John Marshall

It should be just a simple SATA cable. Try any electronics store.

The event error message said "replace cable" the above picture shows a blue cable and a four conductor cable going from the main circuit board to the hard drive. Is this what you caled a SATA cable?

TIA

The blue cable is your SATA cable, which is what transfers the data. The other connection is your power. If you were not getting power the server would not be running.

They are pretty cheap.

Thanks again, now I know where to get it and what it looks like. I opened the server and examined the cable. It turns out to be a combo power/sata. Like the one pictured here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B002EVZVFM/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&m=A2UWYMOBBYEE7C&n=13383011&s=electronics
I think in my case, the sata cable connector on the board side was a bit loose and may have been the problem all along. I carefully re-seated it and made sure the strain caused by the hinged cover was eliminated. I will try this for a while before buying a new cable.
