I bought a EX-470 on eBay, but it came only with the 3.0 Server Recovery Disc and the old Client Recovery Disc. Will the old Client Recovery Disc be compatible?

Wait a second... Is the Server Recovery Disc what I need to upgrade the server to 3.0? Or is it another disc? The only disc I have is the server recovery disc.

The Server Recovery disk will allow you to perform either a factory restore (erases all data on disks) or server recovery (keeps data on disks intact). In both instances, it will install the WHS OS on the server along with whatever version of the HP software is on the disk. The Client Restore disk is used to restoring a client PC that has been backed up by WHS. If you look in the Software share of the server, you'll typically find both the Client Restore ISO and the Connector software to be installed on the clients.
