Hi guys, Im new been a lurkey for a while but registered today. Got my first WHS which is HP Media Smart 475 or 480 not sure. All 3 discs that came with mine we're broken in half as the idiot who sent it me rested the server on top of the disc's :( Can anyone help with an ISO image of the factory reset disc so i can get it up and running? Cheers

Also whats the difference between all 3 discs??? Like Restore and Recovery?

Look on the bottom of your server and you will see which model it is. There is a differnce between the EX47x and EX48x discs regarding the Server Restore Disc.

The three discs are as follows:

(1) Server Recovery - this either recovers the OS on the server or reinstalls the factory image that the unit was shipped with
(2) PC Recovery - this is the disc used to recover a PC from a stored backup image from the server.
(3) Client Software Installation - this disc installs the software on a PC to allow it to work with your server and to allow you do connect to your server to perform maintenance or perform various tasks.

But you do need to identify which server you have before you can acquire the Server Recovery Disc. However the discs mentioned in #2 can be downloaded from Microsoft and I am not sure about #3 that can be pulled from the server.

You should also be able to obtain a copy of all 3 discs from HP but at this point in time you should know HP is about to release their V3.0 of the server software for the EX47x and EX48x servers so you might want to get those if they will perform both a full install and a recovery install.

Just place an order for the new HP 3.0 discs online with HP. When you get to the EX470 OS choice click anything but Server2003 and it should bring you to where you can order the new 3.0 discs.

However HP is really having trouble sending them out so you may have to wait awhile.

Hello guys,
I built an EX470 for my boss a while back, need to do server recovery and of course we have no idea where that disc is. I was able to dig up the PC Restore disc and the Software Installation Disc. Would one of you be able to provide an ISO for the Server Recovery Disc?
Thanks in advance!
