Will the unit support larger 2TB and 4TB drives when they arrive in the next 1-3 years? I would think so

I would expect so too, unless there's some BIOS or SATA chip compatibility issue.

I can already see my need to upgrade in the future. I have the original 500GB + 2 (1TB) Drives right now and its quickly filling up as you add more pics, music, movies, home videos, etc.

I have one free bay left to add another 1TB drive and then I'm stuck with external eSata which I'm not too warm on. I would rather have bigger internal drives.

I've been hearing great things about the CFI external enclosures... 4 more TB drives might be just what you need. 8)
