Hello...I recently reset my WHS back to factory settings. It has 2 drives that are showing healthy but the LED status light are not working. At one point, I had a single purple LED but that went a way after a while and I have no LEDs. I can adjust the brightness of the other lights but nothing happens to the LEDs.

ANy ideas?

The led on the bottom shows the status of the unit purple or violet meaning it is in recovery mode.
This is the health led.
In normal operation it is aqua-blue. or red if there are errors.
There are additional leds on the bottom one is lan connection.
Usually the drive leds will pulse aqua till you complete the recovery, including running the connector for the first pc.
In the console there is a option to change the brightness of the leds.

This is assuming you are using whsv1.

So are you talking about the led next to each drive bay.
Or a led on the bottom.
If it is the bottom which led is the problem.

It would be the LEDs next each drive. The drive shows and is accessible in the UI so I'm not sure what happened or is happening.

I used this thing for years running Linux on it and now I'm trying to return it back to the stock configuration.

So two drive bays being used, yes? Is the drive that's not lighting up the system drive or a data drive?

If the data drive, try swapping it into one of the other slots that have no drive in it and see if that one lights up.

I think I had that issue once.
After all is complete including installing the connector on the first pc and the updates.
Re-boot the server and they came on.
