I recently found an EX470 in storage and I wanted to get it running again. I searched everywhere I could loose the software that came with the machine. After, looking high and low, finally I found the software.
I followed the manual, yes that was in the same box and now I'm stuck. The software completed but the OS Disc became RED. I have looked everywhere for an explanation for the "RED LIGHT DISC" and I can't find a resolution for this problem.

This is a new 2TB hard drive, loaded in the bottom bay. I can't figure it out, what could be the issue?

So you did a factory reset and it completed ok, You named the server and installed the software? Rebooted a couple of times and now the harddrive light is red.
Can you access the server? If so, what kind of errors is it giving?
If Not, the harddrive could be bad.
I would try the reload again and see what happens.
If you do, I would take that harddrive out, attach it to another pc with a usb to sata dock and format and delete the partition and run a checkdisk on it to make sure it's not DOA.

I had a harddrive last just long enough to load the OS then it died. I had to RMA it. It can happen.

The only other thing I can think of (besides a server hardware problem) is the harddrive a Advanced Format hardrive? Those have to be jumpered or use an alignment tool on them.

Search the threads for advanced format drives.

But, Again, I would just check the drive and try again.
Good Luck and let us know what happens next....
