Hello, I have a ex475 HP MSS that has a health light blinking purple for a few seconds then red/blue for a few seconds. then it seems to reboot. and so on Any tips? I've tried powering it down. I don't have the recovery CD but did download a recovery CD online thanks! |

My guess is your OS drive (Bottom Bay) is bad. the red/blue-red/blue-red/blue is when the server is ready to be put into recovery mode. I would power down, pull the bottom drive, attach it to another pc with a usb to sata dock or cables and run a checkdisk on it. The drive is most likely dead or almost. Without the server recovery disk you would not be able to load the factory OS. But before we get that far ahead, need to find out the status of your OS drive first. Probably needs to be replaced. I downloaded something labelled as recovery disc for EX48X, are the recovery discs interchangeable with those models? I will run chkdsk on the OS drive thanks! |

No, not really. The ex-470 and ex-475 use the same disks. The ex-490 ex-495 x-510 can use the same disks. Not sure about the ex-480 series, but they would Not work for the 470/475. Sorry. |
