Post subject:  HP Data vault software for Mac not saving

HI all,

I just bought a data vault x311 and install the software on my mac. It was able to find the data fault and asked for the admin password. After I supplied it, it has a green check and 'authenticated' message. I hit apply, and it has no effect. It tried click on other tabs, and sections but also doesn't work. Thus i can't connect.

How do i fix this? is this a bug with the software? I am running Mac 10.6.4 with HP Data Vault software Version: 3.0.2b121

any help is appreciated.

It would be helpful if you could post screencaps of the preferences panel to help us understand what you are describing. For example, I have attached screencaps from one of my Macs. 3.02b121 is the current version of the connector.

I got the same exact problem. My wife just got a Macbook Air and I've been trying to set it up to backup using the software in the Mac folder on the server. However after entering credentials, and getting a "Authenticated"-respones, neither "Backup" nor "Update" is accessable. Nothing seem to be happening apart from the "authenticated"-respones.

Could anyone help me?

Cheers,
PP

If she just got a new MacBook Air, then it's running OS X 10.7, aka: Lion. Lion introduced a number of changes that cause the HP Time Machine driver to no longer function. Since HP has discontinued support for the MSS, they won't be providing an updated driver.
