Those of us with the EX47x will generally not have the collector until HP releases the v3 software (suposedly this month). There is a v2.5 download available for us but I will wait for the real thing.

You will need to wait until HP releases the new software. Rumors are that it should be soon, and that HP will provide it for a nominal upgrade fee (maybe $25). I think that will basically upgrade 47X and 48X to the same software features as the EX490/495 family.

To be honest... the media collector feature has been buggy to date, but hopefully the new version will be more stable.

Thanks, makes sense why everything I have tried and read still won't allow for me to have the files go where I want them. lol

Guess I will just dump all of my files onto the server and let it do it's thing with the dupes.

I will wait for the v3 and try that, will be worth the $25 if it works.

What about Google Picasa? It seems to be a good cross platform program. Can anyone varify that it can work from a single directory on the MSS and that single directory with all modifications/edits/photoshops are available on both Mac and Win.

I have heard that Adobe Lightroom may also be an option. But at $300 per seat it will cost more than my MSS or a new Mini.
