Hi,
I have a few questions related to Windows Home Server as I don't know much about it.So my questions are
1.who build hardwares for Windows Home server?
2.How it differs from other products in the market place and is it difficult to set up?
Please have your suggestion regarding to this subject,so that I can get clear idea about this.I am waiting for your reply.
Thanks.

Shaily,

Do you have a Mac? You are posting this question in a Mac forum so I am going to assume you have a Mac and want to use WHS. If this is the case then HP is the only company producing a Windows Home Server that integrates Time Machine and other applications with the Mac OS.

1.who build hardwares for Windows Home server?

There a a number of companies who make small hardware units that run the Windows Home Server operating system. Many have been mentioned here and many in other boards. You might experiment with Google to build up a list.

Personally I think the HP MediaSmart Server (MSS) is far ahead of the competition in all respects.

2.How it differs from other products in the market place and is it difficult to set up?

I believe that the HP MSS is probably easier to set up than most and no more difficult than any others. But it also depends on what you want to do and what system you have. If you want it to do specialized things for a Mac you need to research things very carefully as both the WHS operating System and the HP MSS are primarily for a Windows environment. Not to say it does not work with a Mac, but Mac users frequently tend to get some additional problems with the mixed environment.

I do not know of any detailed comparison charts to refer you to for various WHS suites or even to compare WHS to Mac-specific alternatives. Maybe someone else can chime in...
