I've been trying to understand the details of updating the Mac client after applying the MSS software patch that just came out.

I have seen folks talking about first Uninstalling the current client - and I think I recall seeing an Uninstaller on the software disk that came with the MSS. But what is the process for installing the updated Mac client? If I use the client installer on the software disk, won't that just reinstall the original Mac client?

I'd appreciate any help for a newbie. Thanks.

I haven't had to. When I opened the Home Server Console it took a little longer than normal to come up the first time after the patch, but otherwise I haven't done anything.

There is a new dmg file in the patch, it is in the server Software share. I'd try mounting and running that, see if it updates. I've not updated my wife's Mac yet, will be doing that this weekend.

In the Mac MSS preferences pane there is a Software Update tab now - try "Check for Update" for manual update if you did not receive any notification yet.
