My Mac has suddenly started getting confused when it launches the Home Server Console. I am using Parallels virtual machines on my MacBook, and for some reason when I use the HP MSS menu bar to launch the WHS Console it starts up one of my Parallels VMs.

I think this might be related to the launch of a Remote Desktop Connection application. My system software has the Mac version of the RDC app in my Applications Folder, but there are also versions of the RDC application in some of my Parallels VM folders. My guess is that the wrong version of the RDC application is getting selected during the launch of the Mac Console.

I'm not sure how to fix this problem - so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I use VMWare rather than Parallels, but they have very similar feature sets. I would check to see that Parallels isn't configured to associate Windows programs with Mac file types, in this case .rdp. I have attached a screencap of a VM-specific settings dialog from VMWare - you should look for something similar in Parallels.
