I've just arrived at my hotel in Seattle for the 2010 Microsoft MVP Summit. Nigel is still in the air and should be landing in a bit, it'll be great meeting him for the first time. :) We'll be busy over the next few days with various keynotes, parties, and a whole lot of time with the WHS team.

Feel free to post here with any feedback that you'd like conveyed to the WHS team and I'll pass it along, though I most likely won't be able to share much of what we learn here as it is all covered under NDA.

Thank you for making this such a great site!
Alex

Have a great time. Take lots of notes!

I think most of us are more interested in VAIL so what ever you can find out and disclose would be great. Also any information on virus protection integration onto the WHS platform would be nice too. I currently run McAffee but I am not overjoyed with how it runs and while its not an MS product there have been some other issus in the past with other virus software integration into WHS. So I wonder if they might be addressing it or possibly have some recommendations.

I'm going to be asking about the AntiVirus stuff a little today; I'm pleased with how Security Essentials is working out and it would be good if that was an option for WHS. I really don't expect us to be able to talk too much about Vail after the Summit but I'm sure we will be asking what we can disclose as each topic comes up.

Unfortunately no, Microsoft has not announced any details about Vail. :(

Super excited that MVP Global Summit is in Bellevue/Eastside this year. Welcome all MVPs. Here's the official city guide for Bellevue: (Bellevue.com). Find restaurants, free Wifi, happy hour, shopping, things to do and more.

So what happened at the summit anyway? Was there anything in regards to SE as a WHS option? My ESET nod4 is about to run out and I'm curious.

What kind of schwag do you come away with at these types of summits? Just curious, been to many Intel and MS events over the years and always was surprised with the goodies.

Unfortunately most information we received was under NDA and we're not able to share with you. :( Nigel and I had a great time meeting each other for the first time, and it was good to spend time with the Home Server team and learn more details about what they are working on. The schwag was a bit light this year, all MVPs got a water bottle, stickers and shirt. I got a jacket and 2GB USB key at one session, and the home server team gave us 1.5TB hard drives (choice of internal or external). Last year I got a bunch of stickers and books that I was able to share but there wasn't much of that this year. There were parties most every night that were pretty fun.
