I don't know about you guys, but I'm REALLY liking the new site. From an admin point-of-view things are a lot easier to manage, a ton of features I had to "mod" in are included as basic functionality, there haven't been any serious issues reported, and it seems faster overall. 8)

Happened to look at the bottom of the index and the "stats" for the current usage. It states that 11 registered users are on-line (none hidden and more as guests) but it only shows seven of the users by name. Shouldn't it be showing ALL the names for on-line registered users (except hidden ones)?

When some of those online people are moderators and/or admins it just shows moderator and/or admin, I believe, rather than those names. So if you were online when I was it would show 2 people, my name and Moderator.

Been a while since I ran phpbb but I think that's how it works.

It was showing a mix of moderators and members.

I think there's way too many stickies hanging around.

I've been watching this a while and it is one area that could use some attention. The list NEVER shows all the active users, whether I am logged in as a moderator or just browsing as a guest. And it's not just showing other moderators for me, it is a mix. And not even all the moderators!

I would find it useful to be able to see a list of who is currently active. I have, on occasion, posted a response for someone and wondered whether to hang around to see if there is a follow-up question.

Any other place to see that?

The "Registered" users that show up in the count but not the list are most likely Bots that I have chosen to hide. They are "Registered" because the board software knows how to detect them. Rather than clutter up the Who's Online list with GoogleBot, AdSenseBot, YahooBot, etc, I chose to hide those by name and just list the user count. All non-Bot registered users that are online should appear as you would expect, unless they have chosen to be hidden.

Mitch, I agree there are a few too many stickies, primarily in the Troubleshooting forum. I'll be condensing some of those in the near future, thanks for your comment.

Played with the automatic login tonight. It works as expected when used from the bottom of the "Index" screen -- which I generally leave as an open tab in my (FireFox) browser. I would have also expected it to work autmatically if I used the login to the top left on the same screen -- it doesn't. (Both places DO remember the id/password tho -- a blessing IMHO.)

Should it work automatically both places?

I'm not sure I get you, does the site log you out when you've asked it to remember you? I use both FireFox3 and IE7 (plus a little Chrome) and haven't had any issues like that. I also am not sure what you mean by "Index" links?

I still don't get it, are you saying the site doesn't remember your login? Mine always keeps me logged in, no matter how I access page.

Need some education....

I tried to find the moderator options to delete the following two topics -- or at least lock them. How do I do that?

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2434
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2433

And another pair that should be merged:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2423
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2435
