I updated the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, graphics driver, and Intel Matrix Storage Manager on my HP MediaSmart EX485 and thought I'd pass along the link.

Intel 3 Series Chipsets - Chipset information and downloads
You can use the downloads for either the Intel G31 Express Chipset or Intel G33 Express Chipset, they're both the same.

I installed the software in this order: Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, Intel Matrix Storage Manager, and finally the graphics driver.

Cheers from Claremore, OK! :)
Dave

The driver version changed for both the display adapter and SATA controller. The factory drivers were from 2008/2009.

I do notice an IAStorIcon.exe process running in Task Manager but I'm not sure if that was there with the old Intel Matrix Storage Manager or if it's new to the Intel Rapid Storage Technology. I disabled the tray icon in the application but I'm not sure if that process is okay to disable.

Everything does seem snappier using Remote Desktop but I also performed a Disk Cleanup on the C: drive, deleted a bunch of temporary files, and degragmented the C: drive in addition to updating the drivers. I always like to install up-to-date drivers and was curious if it could be done on the MediaSmart Server.

Cheers from Claremore, OK! :)
