Does the EX485 throttle the fan speed according to temp and/or load?

Both my upper and lower fans spin at ~1200rpm at all times regardless of ambient temp (40F-85F) and CPU or disk load. I have never seen or heard them change speeds. I keep the EX485 in the garage due to the operating noise, and lately it's been quite cold in there...still spinning 1200rpm...

I owned the LX195 for a while, and it would definitely adjust the fan speed according to load.

Yes, there are controls built in. I have an EX475 and find mine almost never go below 1200+/- rpm. But under significant CPU load they will spin up to 2400+/-. But that really does require that the CPU be up very close to 100% to drive them to the max.

As I understand it the EX485 behaves in a very similar manner.

If your CPU temperatures are not out of line I wouldn't even think about it!
