I have an EX487 that decided it doesn't want to work right. When I press the power button, the lights come on and the fan spins up for about half a second and then it immediately shuts down. After 5-10 seconds, it turns itself back on and does the same thing. This cycle will continue until I pull the power plug.

Does this sound like an issue with the power supply or some other salvageable problem? I'm moving in a couple weeks and I'm trying to decide if I should keep this or just recycle it.

Sounds like a PSU issue to me. Someone is selling their PSU but I am not certain about its condition: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13409

There are two suppliers for PSU's that are known to work well with all MSS Servers but the one that fits best is sold by Overtek LTD and they sell them on eBay.

I agree that it sounds like a power supply failure. I had the same symptoms on my 485 a few months ago and it was the power supply.
