Hi.
I have an EX485 for work as a server and an EX487 for home use (from what I understand are the same). I don't use the EX487 anymore and my EX485 is dead...Does anyone know if I can just pop the drives from one into the other. Of course I would first remove the drives before transferring the other ones in (I read that if you add additional drives it will format them, therefore deleting any data on it). I was reading that HP would send out a new "Chassis" for people with problems on their MediaSmarts, so I can only assume you can pop your drives in and all will be well.
Thanks, in advance.
Dan

The difference between the two models was just the supplied number of drives so you should be able to swap them over without any issue. If you re-use the system drive as a data drive, wipe it first before putting it in the EX48x though.

I was hoping I could just transfer the drives into another MediaSmart.
