Does anyone know if the new Roku XD can be use to stream videos from the MSS? |

Not sure, I just looked it up on Amazon and nowhere does it mention UPnP or DLNA (which is I think all it would have it if could play back local media) |

I set up the roksbox channel, installed mongoose on my 470 and have been able to stream videos to a old HD and new XDS models. I have had a few problems encoding the videos to a format that doens't reload constantly after an hour. You should read the roksbox thread in the Roku forums to get an idea of what it can do and its limitations. I am pretty much a no-nothing but installing mongoose was very easy. It seems that the way to go might be apache but i have no idea if that will work on a MSS or how difficult it is to set up. |

Yeah but you limited to a few containers. It will not stream .ISO files or anything fancy. |
