dbone, excellent article, I did have a tidbit to pass on, on the Unraid forums they are hinting at an announcement between XBMC and Unraid, evidently integrating Unraid and mysql as a server, with xbmc on htpc's as a front end. Looks like a Linux development. Sad this development will not probably be ported to WHS, it would have made a great XBMC server. |

I am definitely a fan of having some sort of Server/client experience. |

XBMC already has support to run as a Server/Client set-up. Unfortunately, it requires MySQL and I really hate to add another server software to my WHS... I am currently running iHome, Subsonic, an e-book server (calibre), MSSQL Server, and Play-On. The benefits are using the same library on every XBMC instance, as well as starting a movie in one room and finishing it in another because all of the bookmarks are synced to the server... pretty cool stuff! http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=510203&postcount=2 |
