I want to view videos from my media server on my Andoid phone (Samsung Note 4). I only want to be able to do this locally through the Wi-Fi. I do not want it setup on the internet or to use any internet streaming or cloud storage etc. I just want direct local viewing ability. Thanks |

The easiest way I know to do this is with Remote Potato installed on the server. On the Android side install RMC which is Remote Media Center and configure that to match the settings on the server. It works very well on all the Android Devices I have ever used. |

I believe you can set it up just the way you want and rather then using a website/domain I believe you can use the IP Number for the server or the actual server name. I have a server running that is not setup for Remote Access, I will install Remote Potato on it to confirm for you that it will indeed work. |

Much appreciated. I just can't do much on the Internet because it costs me a fortune. I only get 30 gigs a month and also have to share it with 4 phones. No other high speed Internet available. |
