I've been working on getting media streaming up and running on our home LAN for the last month, and I've got many of the bumps smoothed out.

One thing I cannot figure out is how to get metadata, or pictures and info associated with movies downloaded to my server and displayed. When I as using a connected PC to the TV and XBMC, it was easy. Nothing is working now, with what should be a better solution.

I'm using v1 of WHS and a couple of WDTVLive units. I'm using Twonky media service as my source. This is mainly because I can't seem to be able to get Windows Media Server to work. Anyway, I'd greatly appreciate some help of a pointer to a link. Thanks in advance.

I only have one WD TV Live and I never use Twonky or Windows Media Server to deliever content to my WD TV Live. I use the Network Shares to access my content. In the past I have used MetaBrowser to collect the Metadata for my media but on the WD TV Live it will only display the cover art.

An alternative to Twonky would be the addin Serviio which recently was updated and now has ADD-INs for WHS v1 and WHS2011. Check it out http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2012/01 ... -whs-2011/

Well, I've installed Serviio and I am certainly seeing metadata on the "Movies" folder. I am having trouble with the "TV Shows" folder though. I have a number of subfolders (each containing a series). I have only added the main folder in Serviio. When I connect to the folder, the WDTVLive reports no media in the folder. Why? Do I have to add each individual subfolder? I hope not.

...Never mind. I just need to be patient while Serviio loads the library. LOL.

Ya it takes Serviio a while to build its database. Not sure which version you installed but I believe there was a recent update so you may want to review what it has to offer if your not running the latest version.
