We use our Popcorn Hour C-200 for media playback of ISO images located on our EX490 but installed an LG Blu-ray drive for images we haven't yet ripped. I've found that on some Blu-ray discs the player will lock up completely. Most recently Toy Story 2 has been the guilty party. It'll start playing...you'll be asked to select a language, then you get the "depending on the capabilities of your player" message and then the previews start. It seems to get through the previews just fine, but as soon as it goes to load the menu, it locks up. It locks up on all 3 methods I tried to get to the menu (pressing the Menu button when prompted at the start of the first preview, chapter skipping through the previews and just letting the previews run naturally).

When I say the PCH-200 locks up, it must be hard reset. When the menu goes to load, the BD drive light flashes a few times, then stops. The drive tray cannot be opened (except with a paper clip). The remote doesn't eject or stop the playback. Even the display dimmer button on the front stops working. The only way to unfreeze it is to flip the power switch on the back of the unit (or pressing and holding the power button on the front).

Knowing that BD discs can be fickle in terms of firmware, I installed the latest firmware (03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000) over the network. The firmware installed successfully and the PCH rebooted, but the problem was NOT resolved.

The only modifications I made to the PCH are that it has a 160 GB 2.5" SATA HDD installed in the 2.5" internal bay, and there's an LG Blu-ray drive installed in the 5.25" bay. This drive I plucked out of one of my desktops.

I bought the PCH back in the spring so it's still under warranty. Should I be seeking an RMA or am I missing some troubleshooting steps here?

I am in the same boat.
my c-200 is two years old though and I tried last month to add a bd-rom drive to it.
It is probably a popcorn issue with licensing.
They don't support all bd-rom drives. There are only a few with success.
They are in the wiki at networkmediatank.
c-200 compatibility list.
Very limited on what has worked.
I just bought a lg BH12 multiblue that will only play dvds on the popcorn.
But as far as ripping to a iso.
I had to set up the popcorn for the bd region and dvd region. Before the ripped bd-rom iso file would play correctly
It is a hidden step in the wiki at networkmediatank.com.Using the remote it is something like slow 2=6=8=6
Or something like that.
There is a different keystroke for each region type dvd and bd-rom.
Also you need storage space for the bd-rom to play.
Also there is some note somewhere, might be at popcorn hour.
If it plays for 4 minutes and stops you may have a faulty motherboard in the popcorn.

So this is not a issue with the ex490 but with popcorn.
Good luck and if you get it working let me know what you did.
