I have a big collection of CDs that I ripped to flac. I also have a bunch of DVDs that I ripped into iso files. So far I had all this on a HD connected to a WD Tv Live box. However, I would now like to stream everything from my 475 and not just within the home but also over WAN. Streaming video over the WAN is not important to me but music is. I want to access it from iPhones, iPad, Win7 based laptops, etc. I did look into Remote Potato and Twonky. Remote Potato does not seem to support on-the-fly transcoding, does it? Twonky does seem to support it in the newer versions and it seems the 47x also has enough power to do this on-the-fly. Has somebody done this and can confirm it? On the negative side Twonky seems difficult whereas Remote Potato is rather sleek. Does anybody have some real-world experience with these two apps specifically for transcoding and streaming flac file over both LAN and WAN and DVD iso files over LAN?
