I think you missed an important key in your question. What hardware is your WHS running on?
To give you a general answer. It is not supported. But, I do have XBMC running on a WHSv1 server. It is a headless server though so i have never watched the output from it. I have it installed as a UPNP server for my iPad with XBMC on it.
I did have to toss a video card, enable sound, and enable hardware acceleration on my WHS before it worked.
If you PCH can see a UPNP media device, you might try enabling the bedroom XBMC as a UPNP server to test before you purchase and run cables all over your house. you might be able to just piggyback off that HTPC.
If you do a search on the XBMC forums, a few people tell of their experiences with XBMC on WHS. Not all are good.
