I've been away for awhile and there are so many new things going on I gonna have to spend a few days catching up!!
I'm not sure if this is in the right area, but here it goes.
I've searched for a resolve for this on Google in both Windows and Logitech and now I'm hoping you guys might have an answer.
I have a DIY HTPC with Windows 7 HP, an IR dongle, and a Harmony 880 remote. I have a custom button on the 880 for "POWER TOGGLE" for the HTPC. The issue I'm having is that the PC won't turn on when I press an activity (ie Watch Movie), but it will turn on if I press the custom button on the Harmony. ](*,) So I know the power command is good but it won't do it in an activity.
Any ideas?
If I haven't explained myself well, let me know, and I'll try to elaborate.
Thanks guy
Sean

recheck your logitech settings for the activity (and/or on the logitech - when you first power on - go into assistance). If you haven't added your htpc to the activity "watch movies" or you haven't correctly configured the power settings - your description occurs.

Compare power settings between the "power on" button and the activity and see if you can get them the same.

Another option, delete your Watch Movie activity from your Harmony software and re set up. Maybe you just got a gremlin running around in your 880.

I know the power command works cause it does from a custom button. But when the HTPC s added to the activity and is set to power on, nothing happens.
Is there a way to "lengthen" the signal time when sending it to the PC?

If I recall in the Harmony software you can assign a delay to a command. Haven't messed around with in a while

ahh - i think i see. The custom power button is something you have programmed for the device - now you want the activities that use that device to use that custom power button.

I'd agree with damian - delete the device and re-create it.

re-add the device to your existing activity and the software should push you through a screen about how you power your device on.

TedC,

Right! I'm gonna try removing it and reloading it.

Anyone use a Harmony remote be willing to share what they use as the component setup for a DIY HTPC? (Media Center PC, Windows, etc)

My only difference - the device I choose was the MCE-1039 (or something like that)...

be damned if I can't get play pause and stop to work in mythtv though. everything else works - and it works ok in xbmc.

UPDATE!

I reloaded the HTPC under the Microsoft 1039 and WALA!! worked perfectly!!

The old HTPC setup was using a Windows Vista Media Center setup and it would not power on the PC. So this new one works much better.

Thanks guys!! Excellent work as always!!
