I'm not saying this way is perfect but, it sure seem to be working easy enough.

First I have My Movies with AnyDVD make a TS Folder & MPEG2 copy of the movie.

Then I drag the MPEG2 copy of the movie into another folder which the HP video converter is watching.

The HP video converter then converts the video into an MP4 for iphone which is placed in converted videos / mobile.

I have itunes set to watch the converted videos/ mobile folder.

Besides popping the DVD in, and taking it out of the DVD drive, the only interaction required by me is moving the MPEG2 file into the HP video converter watched folder.

In the past I have tried to run the HP video converter on the TS Folder and most of the time it either failed or got hung up on a file. So far I have not had any issues with the 15 or so movies which I have tried this on.

The quality of the video on my iphone seemed good to me.

For m4v (iPhone/iPad) playback I use AnyDVD + Handbrake (use universal settings in handbrake). Works well and is usually fast (DVDs under 20 minutes and I think BluRays under 1 hour). Eventually plan on upgrading my PC to get a little boost in speed.

My wife has an iPad as well so I figure this covers everything going with the universal preset

I don't use any apple products, so these may be dumb questions...

1. Why is itunes watching the converted videos/ mobile folder?
2. Are you able to view these video locally on the lan with itunes on the iphone?
3. Are you not using the istream amp?

thanks!

AnyDVD + Handbrake and the new ATV2 setting is what I use. It makes files compatible with all my Apple products (ATV, iPad2, iPhone4).
