hi all

i have a 495 with 7.5GB of bluray isos. i have two different c-200s mapped via SMB to the videos folder to stream movies upstairs and downstairs. maybe i just didnt try this sooner because i never noticed, but when i stream different bluray iso's on the different c-200s at the same time, the movies stutter. i can see two drive lights flickering at the same time on the sans digital esata. twonky is turned off and i dont think any backups are going on.. the MSS is connected by cat 6 to gigabit switch to an HP procurve switch. i think the PCH's are on a different switch (not sure if that makes a difference) i'm almost positive i have network settings to 10/100, but it could be auto.. .not sure if it matters.
i would think i could get at least 2 streams simultaneously without causing this problem.

any suggestions, or am i just asking too much ofthe 495 (already upgraded proc to q9550, 2.b ghz, and 4 gb of ram)

thanks for any suggestions

I have an upgraded EX490. I have no issues streaming three high bitrate BD ISOs concurrently from my WHS. And this is with 23 hard drives over USB(eight on SATA/eSATA).
I use Dlink gigabit switches for my home network.

thanks aaron! Wow, you have a ton of storage!! i dont get it :-( they are all on the same gigabit switch HP procurve (the 2 c-200's and the MSS). what are your settings for your MSS nic card and for your settings for c-200 network ?(esp. the speeds) . are you using jumbo frames on your MSS? (ive had problems with that working with the c-200's)

Settings on the WHS are whatever the default is. Which is not Jumbo frames. I don't use jumbo frames with any of my network devices.
Now with my C200 I have it set for 10/100. All my media players use a 100mbps connection.

Blu ray playback is very hit or miss.
I have seen blu-rays playback just fine at 20mbs over wireless.
And then seen them fail miserably over 100mbs networks.
I really wish there was a better guide to what makes or breaks Blu-ray playback quality.

I have a SageTV HD300 that plays them Flawlessly at only 20mbs all day long yet my Win7 3GHZ HTPC fails with anything less than a gigabit network.

my BD is the same way ... sometimes scattered slight stutters with my brand new HTPC running core i3 and an SSD over gigabit
