Post subject:  what have I done

Hi all

Just a quick question for the techy peeps here...

I, like the masses, installed the PP1 last week and was happy with everything, then got a little bit adventurous and like many others, I installed the Virus and Streaming part of the update....this slowed my 2GB machine down no end....and I decided to take the software off.. as the server after 5 days was close to unusable.

Now dont ask me why I did this, but for some reason, I RDP'd onto the Server and uninstalled the PVConnect via the control panel and uninstall software section.. Now this did infact uninstall the PVCONNECT software BUT it is still showing as an INSTALLED addin on the WHS console. If I try to uninstalll it here now it fails (as it would as its already uninstalled) can anyone offer any help as to how I can ermove this from the screen.

I sensibly removed the addin for McAfee correctly and this has disappeared with no probs...

Any help would be very much appreciated

Re-install and uninstall should fix this for you.

If you delete/move/etc the c:\program files\windows home server\HomeServerConsoleTab.TwonkyMediaServer.dll it should disapper. I did that for iTunes.

Take a look at the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\RegisteredAdditions\

Is there still a subkey for Twonky or pVC under there?

You could also check this one, but I would suspect the other key may be the problem.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\KnownAdditions\

I did the same thing (you are not alone). Yakuza's solution worked perfectly. And it's simple without rooting around the registry.
