I have a bone stock 500gb HP Mediasmart server. Update 1.3 installed last night. According to the console, I have 270gb in free space.

I downloaded PPI from Microsoft tonight and copied it to the shared software folder. I double click it and it starts to extract the files. Before it finishes it gives me an error message that says there is insifficient storage to complete this process. I have tried uninstalling the mcafee plugin along with the other one (media server). That didn't help. I am running a backup cleanup, but don't see what that should matter. Any ideas?

Let the backup cleanup finish, I bet you can't install PP1 while that's running. Also, have you enabled Desktop Search on the server? If so, you could be out of room on C:, check that by logging via Remote Desktop. Finally, after you've copied the file to the software share, Remote Desktop onto the server, copy the file to the desktop, right-click and select "Properties" then click "Unblock".

Call it a rookie error. I was trying to install from a client, not the server itself. Bringeth the flames.

Not too many flames here, mostly just gentle teasing. :P

Fully deserved. I have done absolutely nothing with the server except for backups and file sharing. That was the first time I used the remote desktop.

I've been watching this board and waiting for this update for a long time. Now I can finally buy some more drives and load all the video that I have been waiting to store.

I had the same problem. Installed 1.3 from HP but could not install PP1 from Microsoft. I was told to right click the .exe file, and click "UNBLOCK". That did it for me. Yes I was told I had lack of space also on the error.
