Nah, if you have lots of memory already, then it's gotta be something else. Uninstall PVConnect if you don't use it!

It's also interesting that HP included PVConnect 4.4.4 when according to tonky media 4.4.5 is now out with resolutions to some bugs....

Does anyone know how HP is planning on rolling out updates to PV Connect? After all, they did the push they should help us update for fixes correct?

Mitch... How do I know if I won't use it if I can't try it? After all I do have DLNA supported devices like my PS3 and PSP.... I can see benefits to including it as it is probably a bit more reliable than the standard Microsoft Software for items like this!

Looking at the task list, searchindexer.exe has done 14 billion i/o read bytes and 20b write. This since a boot mid-afternoon yesterday.

I'm sure this has been answered before, but why does WHS need a search index?

Jeff... Probably for folks to use Windows Vista search features to find thier components! :D

Nahh.. just jestin with ya...

I often wondered why Microsoft left that search engine going... the only thing I can think of is that's how its recognizing file changes to migrate to other drives via the internal sofware array./....

HP is just delivering a bundled 3rd party Add-in with PV and McAfee, so I would expect those vendors to provide their own updates.

That's a fair statement I guess.... Additionally, since PV Connect has indexed it all, the server's response rate has greatly increased!

Note PV Connect is very slow and is quite a resource hog.... Once it gets done indexing it will resume...

It would have been nicer if they developed the PVconnect technology (especially the indexer) to be a much lower priority task... McAfee didn't affect me in the least and has had no real impact with my system performace...

PV on the other hand crashed it, and having installed McAfee first well it was virus checking every file it was indexing... Talk about a system load! :)

Give it time!

I noticed the same thing. Once PV connect was done indexing the console was much more responsive.

Just confirming what the others have said. When I first updated, my MSS was running like a dog. Drives grinding like crazy and the console locking up constantly. Rather than battle with it, I decided it was too late and I'd deal with it in the morning.

I guess all the databases updated for PVConnect, the Photo Webshare etc...because it's running fine now.

PVConnect totally messed up on which folders to share, but I *think* I've now got that resolved too.
