Post subject:  Dropbox-like add-in possible?

I came across the article linked below on building your own open source dropbox clone. I think it would be awesome if it could be rolled up into a WHS add-in. It would allow us to have a "dropbox" of whatever size our MSS/WHS provides. I think there would still be a role for the "real" Dropbox to keep a core set of critical files backed up in case the WHS goes down, but shifting to something like this for my main dropbox would be great for the additional space it would provide.

I have zero programming skills, but thought I would pass along the idea. Can anyone comment if it is at least feasible? I'm happy to beta test if anyone wants to give it a go. What kind of effort would be needed to make an add-in like this (guesstimate of hours and/or cost)?

I do realize that the official Dropbox can be installed on WHS. But that doesn't open up any extra storage space that something like this would.

Or maybe there is already something like this available? I did some searching here and elsewhere, but didn't come up with anything with just a quick scan. Could easily have missed something.

Thoughts?

His method is very linux-specific but could be accomplished with FileSystemWatcher and a handful of freely available tools like rsync and ssh. The sticky bit comes into making it all work together in a way that isn't difficult for the average user to work. I've had the idea to implement this for a couple years but it's always been a lower priority for me. It's definitely possible.
