Over the weekend I did the idiotic and accidentally disabled my NIC on my 475ex.

As you can imagine created a problem. I tried blind typing but had no luck. I ended up ressetting my server (which kept my data) but I lost all user accounts/Add Ins etc etc and spent most of the next day upgrading my server.

If someone smarter then me had the opportunity it would be a great add-in to see if someone could create something to re-enable a NIC that had been disabled after a set period of time, or at a specific time.

If you ever really had to disable the NIC (not sure why you might need this on a headless system...) you would simply have to remove the add-in before hand.

Just a thought. Hopefully if someone does tackle this it wont be too difficult.

Baka

There is a WIKI article about this at http://www.mediasmartserver.net/wiki/index.php/How_to_fix_a_disabled_network_interface that shows how to do it without having to do a Server Restore. Too late for you but I am posting for any future readers!
