I'm particularly interested if anyone here with an ex490/495 has been using the 1.0 release of lights out. I'm concerned with the fact that the ex490/495 have sleep capabilities and that using lights out on these units could be problematic. Also if you are using it did you have to disable the SB core service?
Thanks.

Thanks, I am downloading it. I didn't realize. I came today in search of discussion if anyone has found a way to reduce the memory footprint on a client computer. I am thinking of leaving lights out on the server but removing the client software because my laptop is becoming so ineffecient and I am trying to reduce bottlenecks.

It was difficult to find a link to the download. Here is one:

I tried it on my server this morning to see if somehow it would detect accesses from my AppleTV that the built-in sleep/wake functionality does not, but no luck. So I uninstalled it again. I did not have both the built-in sleep function and Lights Out enabled simultaneously and I cannot think of any reason why someone might want to have both enabled.

Did you have to disable the smb core after you installed it?

I didn't change any server settings. I did not previously have the built-in sleep functionality enabled via the console.

Regarding to the manual this service "SBCore" is coming from an installation of your WHS before SP1. This service is responsible for waking up the server every 30 minutes...
I've had this issue, but: RTFM was helpfully :beerme:

Here are the current links to

Lights Out
Download http://www.axonet.de/whs/LightsOutInsta ... 1.1038.msi
main page (sorry, it's German) http://addins.home-server-blog.de/verwaltung/lightsout/
English Manual http://www.axonet.de/whs/LightsOutEn.pdf
English Online help http://www.axonet.de/whs/webhelp/en/
English Support at We Got Served http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?showforum=89

and a new tool called "Lights Out Problem Analyzer LOPA" http://www.axonet.de/whs/LightsOutProblemAnalyzer.exe

EDIT: Arrghhhh - now I've seen in the link to We Got Served all these collected information... ](*,)
