As I mentioned previously, there were some changes in PP2 to the Backup software that improved the way it detected and handled backups in the DB that were associated with clients that were not set up on the server. My "old" client appeared in the Computers and Backups tab automatically after restoring the DB but without restoring the registry keys. This is why I suggested trying it without restoring the keys. I'll likely remove this option from a future build of BDBB.

You should be able to "Remove Computer" from the server console to get them out of the system, and then restore the BDBB backup again.

And I have recovered my oldest database backups (one from BDBB and another from the automated process) to my DIY test system without problem. I did NOT restore the registry keys created with BDBB as I was not 100% positive that there might not be some problems due to the makjor platform differences. And, of course, I do not back these up using the automated approach anyway.

NO problems. I immediately backed up one of my systems to the test system and that, too, worked just fine.

Of course that leaves my test system with about 96% utilization of the storage pool so I'll be reseting the database this evening! No way in the world I am going to add disks to that!
