The security concern aspect comes down to your personal level of concern. The most people can see is your client PC names, serial number, server name, and any info contained in the health Alerts. It's best to use authentication if you can, but shouldn't be a security hole to turn it off.

Thanks for clarifying the security question. Guess I'll leave the authentication requirement on for now since it appears to be working fine.

I had changed the port forwarding from TCP only to both TCP and UDP. Now I have changed it back to just TCP and rebooted the server for good measure. I can still access the Health page fine, so it looks like that probably wasn't the issue. Not sure what was happening because John had included the "www" in his test and I'm pretty sure I did at least once too -- and it wasn't working for us. But now all is working OK. Whatever is was, I'm just happy to be able to use this nice add-in now. Thanks to all for the assistance!

Bottom line is that it works... Glad of that! Happy New Year!

Thanks for the props man =). Glad the CA worked for you. I have yet to hear of any IIS install issues with any language or configuration for a couple months now, so you should be good as well hopefully!

Unfortunately, on my EX475, I am encountering problems when attempting to access it with either FF or IE from a regular computer (as opposed to a phone).

If I access it directly, using https://xxxxxxxx.homeserver.com/health all works fine. If I attempt to go to the home screen and then navigate to it it just does not do anything when I click on the WHS Health link on the screen. I saw he link on the Remote Home page and tried it there with same results. (The P80 link on the same page works fine.)

I am attaching screen shots of the two problematic locations to avoid any communications error and assure you know exactly what locations I am referring to.

We build the link dynamically with Javascript, this seems to work fine in IE but Firefox doesn't like it. I'll look into it, thanks for pointing this out.

Fails here is BOTH IE and FF... (Latest versions of both.)

It's worked in IE (both 7 and 8 on XP and Vista) on 3 systems for me, I've not tried Win7 yet.

I've identified the cause of the problem, simple javascript error. I've got a fix in and will pass it off to Nigel, we'll probably have an update available later today.

Fix is in and the build is updated on the download page to version 1.0.0.11.

It looks to me that the Authentication is wacked, if you uncheck Authentication in the Health settings page, it works fine otherwise you get the web log in page which does nothing.

We've got a fix for that coming momentarily. If you still want to use security, you can just toggle auth off, hit apply, toggle it back on, hit apply. The problem was with how we created the URL initially.
