Thanks for the reply Nigel.

Sleepless in Seattle huh?

So in the meantime as a taster maybe just let me know what lines I could remove and in what file(s) until you have the time to do the changes yourself maybe?

Thanks & kind regards,

You'd be looking in each .aspx page in the Health folder for the line that looks like: -

Code:
<ul class="individual">
   <li><a href="/health/">Back</a></li>

</ul>

Removing that will take out that big Back button.

Hey Cougar...many thanks for that.

Looks much better to my eye...and I can always use the browser back button or the Index button at the top of the page instead of that big, ugly, white back button at the bottom of the page!

If only I could figure out why under Media Counts reports twice the number of songs (12668 vs. actual 6334 - must be two copies of my library on the WHS?) and what the Remaining 283,300 column means?

Photos & Videos file numbers seem to be reported correctly but it would be nice to have the date parsed & displayed in my local regional settings ie. day/month/year and not backwards as in year/month/day!

Amyway many thanks Nigel and enjoy your time in Seattle.

Kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

Great add-in. I made a couple of suggestions a few months ago but not seen them in the new release so either they got missed or ignored ;-) Under system info I was thinking it would be nice to have the option to hide my serial number. Also for uptime can this be converted to the more standard days, hours minutes? It makes it a bit more readble.

Cheers,
Al

Sorry, they got missed. I'll see what's possible on the date format, currently I'm just pushing out what whs is presenting. I'm more than happy to take the serial number out completey as well, rather than hide?

I'd guess you do have your media duplicated on your server; seems to be a common thing when the Aggregator runs as well as the user copying the files over. The remaining column is a rough guide as to how much media of a given type could be copied (approximately) onto the server.

We should have an update with the back button changes, and also some cosmetic changes to a few of the pages and the missing Logoff button soon. Just waiting to complete the German translation and we have it in German as well. Any takers for any other languages?

I have installed WHS health on my home brewed system but the pages do not update. In fact the status of the server is 'frozen' on a date in January about two weeks before I installed the add-in. Have I missed something? :?

I'd guess you probably have the same bug a few people have noticed where the health.xml file in c:\inetpub\intranet\health\health.xml file isnt being updated and you probably have quite a few errors in the Event Log to match this. I'm afraid that's a WHS bug and you'd need to add feedback to the bug already logged on connect articles

https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHo ... -event-log

and

https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHo ... p3-upgrade

I'm coming to the end of the changes I wanted to make for the next release of WHS Health. It's also being localised in German, but if anyone fancies it in another language and is willing to translate a few words for me then please drop me a note.

Thanks,

Nigel.

Cougar,

Is there any data in there for the cpu temp and fan speeds to be displayed as part of the WHS Health add-in?

Recently, did a servery recovery and got rid of that bug that prevents the health file from being updated. Really like the add-in now that I can use it.

Great! Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking at what other data we can provide in the app that makes it useful to all. Really want to get the multi language thing going first and build on it from there.

To more directly answer the question, no, the health.xml doesn't contain hardware info like that. We'd have to implement our own web service that gathers more info if we want to expand the data displayed.

Donald Lu, over on the MS forums has posted a possible fix for the lack of health.xml file and the associated Event Log entries.

On your WHS run:

winmgmt /resyncperf

This fixed the issue for me, and I have hasd problems since the original PP3 beta.

Maybe it will work for you.

I need some help here. I downloaded the new version, put it into my Addins folder but it does not show up in there so I thought I would uninstall the previous version. I tried but kept getting an error. To make a long story short I actually got rid of the addin so it does not show up in the installed list and it does not show up in the Setting section but I still cannot see the new version in my ready to be installed addins. What can I do to clean up the previous install?

Thanks.
