My HP Online Backup Service add-in fails to start (Amazon S3) - the specific error message in the activity log is "Connection to HPOnlineBackup service is failed".

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the add-in. Any other ideas?

I have a HP MediaSmart 475, 1.5 TBytes running HP MediaSmart Server 2.5.

Thanks!

Is it still failing? I also had a connectivity problem the other day but a few hours later it was fine.

(I do wish the consold would allow access to a "history" listing!!)

We, still failing to start after numerous re-boots/reloads, etc. I think I'll have to abandon S3 and go to different backup service.

This indicates an error connecting to the local service. Did you recently install any new add-ins or software on the server?
